A Park Ranger leads informational programs for park visitors about the history and environmental features of public parks, and promote awareness of protecting park land. Welcomes and provides assistance to park visitors, assists with educational programs, oversees park events and activities and patrols park land.

Non-Exempt, Hourly Summary:
Work in a utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another, monitoring and maintaining terrain features in the freestyle park and other locations where applicable. Act as a host in regard to crowd supervision, safety awareness, education, Freestyle Terrain etiquette, and guest relations.
Key responsibilities:
Install and maintain terrain park signage, closures, fencing, and banner tape. Fill out daily terrain park logs. Open and close terrain park daily. (Set up and take down entrance gates) Maintain ongoing monitoring of terrain park features and equipment. Rebuild ramps of each feature upon closure of Terrain Park. Manually test and visually inspect each feature in the terrain park. Mitigate risk by grooming entrance and exit ramps and de burring features. Communicate with Ski Patrol when Terrain Park opens and closes. Communicate via radio with ski patrol when incidents occur and close access to park features to guests until the incident is cleared. Communicate professionally with guests. Fill out terrain park placement log and description when features are removed from or added to park. Conduct post incident inspections of feature. Fill out required post incident paperwork, properly file, and get copies to Ski Patrol. Directly pick up and manage trash and recycling found in Terrain Park boundaries, and other areas of the mountain. Demonstrate attention to detail. Be a good steward of the mountain. Ensure aesthetic appeal and cleanliness of the terrain park. Assist level 1 attendants maintain features and help them hone their snow feature grooming skill Share Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment as the opportunity arises. Other duties may be assigned, including subordinate positions or outside area of responsibility.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 2-4 years of Terrain Park work experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Personal skiing or snowboarding skills of level 8 or better. History of consistency in good work ethic, and safety awareness. Able to use 2-way radios to communicate emergencies and receive alerts and updates from ski patrol. Park attendants must have knowledge and experience of riding terrain park features. Attendants must have the basic understanding of how a terrain park should flow from feature to feature. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk/hike; use hands to shovel and rake snow ; reach with arms and hands; climb or balance, and regularly talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be 18 years of age or older
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside winter weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions for much of the day. The employee will sometimes work with moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate .
