Our services include professional solar panel cleaning, bird and critter exclusion, and pest management solutions designed to prevent animals from nesting around and underneath solar arrays. We are looking for a motivated, dependable, and safety-conscious Pest & Solar Protection Technician to join our growing team. Position Overview This is a hands-on, outdoor position combining general pest control, solar panel cleaning, and bird/critter exclusion services . You will inspect residential and commercial properties, identify pest and wildlife issues, perform appropriate pest treatments, clean solar panels, and install or maintain professional exclusion systems around solar arrays. You will work directly with customers and play an important role in protecting their homes, businesses, and solar investments. This position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, working outdoors, problem-solving, working at heights, and providing excellent customer service. No previous experience is required—we provide training for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Inspect residential and commercial properties for insects, rodents, termites, birds, weeds, and other pest or wildlife issues. Perform general pest control services using approved pesticides, baits, traps, exclusion methods, and other appropriate techniques. Clean residential and commercial solar panels using eco-friendly deionized/pure water systems, brushes, and safe cleaning techniques. Inspect solar arrays for nesting, animal activity, damage, debris, and other conditions that may affect the system or require customer attention. Install, repair, and maintain critter guards, mesh barriers, netting, spikes, and other bird and wildlife exclusion systems around solar panels and rooftops. Safely and humanely remove nests and debris when appropriate. Assist with termite, weed control, rodent, and other pest management services as needed. Work safely on ladders, rooftops, and around solar equipment while following all required fall-protection and electrical-safety procedures. Educate customers about pest prevention, solar maintenance, bird/critter protection, and recommended follow-up services. Provide professional, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service at every job. Maintain accurate records of services performed, materials used, inspections, and customer interactions. Operate and maintain company vehicles, equipment, tools, and safety gear. Drive company vehicles safely and arrive at scheduled appointments on time and prepared. Follow all company safety procedures, applicable Arizona regulations, EPA requirements, and proper pesticide-handling practices. Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent Black Pearl Pest Control with integrity. QualificationsRequired Valid Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record. High school diploma or equivalent. Comfortable working outdoors in Arizona's desert climate and varying weather conditions. Comfortable working on ladders, rooftops, and at heights. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and standing for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn. Professional, friendly attitude and strong customer service skills. Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team. Experience That Is a Plus Previous experience in any of the following is helpful but not required : Pest control Wildlife or bird exclusion Solar panel cleaning Roofing Construction or handyman work Window washing Pressure washing Termite or weed control Arizona Pest Control Applicator certification is a plus, but not required for entry-level candidates. Black Pearl Pest Control provides training and supports the certification process for qualified employees. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are also a plus. Physical & Safety Requirements This position involves frequent outdoor work, climbing ladders, accessing rooftops, working around solar equipment, and performing physically demanding tasks in Arizona heat. Fall-protection equipment, safety training, and job-specific training will be provided. Candidates must be willing and able to follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
