Job Description

About Us:

Alpha Pest Control is a local, family-owned business in Tempe, Arizona. We value our community and believe we have an ethical responsibility to provide 5-Star Service to our clients every time. We also value our team's dedication and are committed to treating everyone with respect and value authenticity. With a focus on environmentally friendly practices and cutting-edge techniques, we strive to create pest-free and weed-free environments while prioritizing the safety and satisfaction of our residential and commercial clients. Alpha Pest Control is hiring an experienced Pest Control Technician with hands-on termite treatment experience. This isn't an entry-level opening — we're looking for someone who can walk onto a termite job on day one and knows the difference between a liquid barrier treatment and a bait system without being told. You'll handle general pest and weed control too, but termite work is the specific gap we're filling right now. We have an excellent reputation in the Tempe area, and it matters to us that whoever joins the team can maintain that standard immediately.

Responsibilities:

We utilize integrated pest and weed management processes and require technicians to utilize our software. You will be responsible for the following:

  • Conduct termite inspections (WDI/WDO), identify conducive conditions, and recommend treatment based on infestation type and property construction.
  • Perform termite treatments, including liquid barrier and bait system applications, according to label and state requirements.
  • Conduct general pest inspections to identify infestations, entry points, and conducive conditions.
  • Identify pests, including insects, scorpions, rodents, bees, birds, etc., to determine appropriate treatment methods.
  • Recommend and implement customized pest control plans based on client preferences, using pesticides, baits, traps, and exclusion techniques.
  • Safely and effectively apply pesticides according to label instructions and state regulations, using proper equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, treatment plans, pesticide applications, and follow-up visits.
  • Communicate with clients to explain findings, treatment options, and prevention recommendations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations outlined by federal, state, and local authorities, including the Arizona Department of Agriculture's Pest Management Division.
  • Stay current on industry trends and regulations through ongoing training (NPMA, PCT magazine, and similar resources).
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction with every visit.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the team to coordinate schedules and share information.
  • Show up on time in clean-cut pants and an Alpha Pest shirt.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must hold a valid Arizona pest control license at time of hire. Alpha covers course and exam costs for additional certifications after you're on board.
  • Hands-on termite treatment experience required.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, weekdays between 7am and 5pm.
Who We're Looking For:

Military veterans are strongly encouraged to apply. The discipline and ability to follow protocol that comes out of service translates directly to this work, and we know how to put that experience to use.

Benefits:
  • Competitive pay based on experience and performance.
  • Company-provided vehicle, equipment, and uniforms.
  • After 6 months in role: eligibility for health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • 401k benefit after 6 months.
  • Paid time off after 6 months.
  • Major holidays off.
  • A supportive work environment with a focus on safety and teamwork.
