Role Description The Field Technician role at Orkin in San Jose, CA is a full-time, on-site position responsible for delivering pest control services to customers in residential and commercial settings. Day-to-day activities include inspecting properties for pest activity, identifying pest types and conditions that contribute to infestations, and applying appropriate treatments in accordance with company protocols and safety standards. The Field Technician will communicate clearly with customers, explain service recommendations, and provide ongoing follow-up to ensure effective pest management. The role also involves maintaining service records, operating company vehicles safely, and adhering to all regulatory, environmental, and health and safety requirements. Technicians work both indoors and outdoors and may perform duties in various weather conditions. Qualifications Ability to perform thorough property inspections, identify pest issues, and follow structured service procedures safely and accurately. Strong customer service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and the ability to explain technical information in an understandable way. Capacity to work independently in the field, manage time effectively, and complete scheduled routes and documentation with attention to detail. Comfort with hands-on work in varied environments, including climbing, bending, and working in tight spaces and different weather conditions. Valid driver's license with a safe driving record and ability to operate a company vehicle in compliance with local regulations. Willingness to complete Orkin's training program and obtain any required state or local pest control licenses or certifications. High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in field service, maintenance, or a related trade is helpful but not required. Reliability, integrity, and a commitment to following safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory guidelines.
