Candidates without prior pest management experience will be enrolled in a comprehensive training program upon hire designed to provide the technical knowledge, hands-on experience, safety training, pest identification skills, and customer service skills needed to become a successful Pest Management Technician. Candidates with previous pest management experience, industry certifications, and existing DC, Maryland, and/or Virginia pesticide credentials are highly valued and may qualify for a higher starting rate. Major Responsibilities As a Pest Management Technician, you will: Perform scheduled residential and commercial pest management services. Conduct thorough interior and exterior inspections to identify pest activity, evidence of infestation, conducive conditions, sanitation concerns, structural deficiencies, and potential pest entry points. Identify pests and determine the location, severity, and extent of pest activity. Develop and implement appropriate treatment and prevention strategies using Integrated Pest Management principles. Provide services for rodents, cockroaches, ants, flies, spiders, occasional invaders, stinging insects, and other structural pests. Install, inspect, service, and maintain traps, monitoring devices, insect monitors, and exterior rodent stations. Apply pesticides and other pest management products according to label directions, company procedures, and applicable regulations. Identify structural and environmental conditions contributing to pest activity and provide recommendations for exclusion, sanitation, repairs, and other corrective actions. Document pest activity, treatment locations, recommendations, and conditions observed during each service. Create diagrams, maps, photographs, and other documentation when needed to clearly communicate pest activity and recommendations. Communicate professionally with homeowners, residents, property managers, building engineers, facility personnel, and other customer representatives. Explain findings, treatment procedures, pest prevention strategies, and recommendations to customers. Identify opportunities to provide additional pest management solutions and prepare or assist with estimates when appropriate. Coordinate follow-up services, customer callbacks, and service needs with Broadview's office and management team. Complete and submit service reports, photographs, payments, and other required documentation accurately and on time. Maintain appropriate inventory of pest management products, traps, monitors, PPE, and other supplies. Maintain company-issued equipment, tools, materials, and vehicle in a clean, organized, professional, and safe condition. Participate in continuing education, licensing, certification, and professional development. Perform other duties as assigned. Have a high school diploma or GED. Be able to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and property personnel. Be willing and able to obtain and maintain all required pest management registrations, licenses, and certifications for the jurisdictions in which work is performed. Follow company safety procedures, pesticide label requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position.

Technicians must be able to:

Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Frequently enter and exit a service vehicle. Bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Climb stairs and ladders. Work in confined or difficult-to-access areas. Inspect basements, attics, utility areas, mechanical spaces, loading docks, trash areas, and similar environments. Occasionally lift and/or move equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Have the vision and physical ability necessary to safely perform detailed pest inspections and treatments. Work Environment Our technicians work both indoors and outdoors throughout the year and should be comfortable working in changing environmental conditions. During a typical workday, technicians may work in residential homes, apartments, offices, healthcare facilities, commercial buildings, kitchens, basements, attics, utility rooms, mechanical areas, loading docks, trash rooms, and exterior environments. Technicians may encounter insects, rodents, pest evidence, droppings, nesting materials, and other conditions commonly associated with pest infestations. The position may require the use of EPA-registered pesticides and professional pest management equipment, including sprayers, dusters, vacuums, drills, flashlights, monitoring equipment, traps, and common hand and power tools.
