Orkin Pest Control of Hattiesburg has an opening for a pest technician. The position is entry level and training is provided for the right candidate looking to enter the pest control field. The ideal candidate would be self motivated, able to perform tasks without supervision, write clearly, and can (after training) speak to customers in a knowledgeable and respectful manner. The opening consists of driving to clients homes, treating locations for general pests, setting up IPM programs, and relaying the information to the client and Orkin office. Pest Treatments include running a backpack blower. You will also be required to perform inspections, lift 40+ pounds, sometimes use a lift to seal attic spaces from the outside, and/or sometimes work off a ladder.

Compensation package:

2500 per month salary during training, company vehicle, company phone, IRA, health, dental/vision, lead program, your day is scheduled for you, no selling required, and paid on going training. Position will require going under homes, in attics, bending, lifting, crawling, writing, using a phone app to finish work orders, some Saturday work may be required if we run behind on the inspections, and working out doors, dealing with changing weather conditions. Orkin Pest Control is a drug free workplace and the offer of employment is dependent on a drug screen. No beards allowed due to OSHA regulations for facemask sealing.
