Competitive, based on experience Job Summary Venture Rentals LLC is seeking a dependable and experienced Pest Control Technician to provide pest prevention, inspection, treatment, and follow-up services across our residential apartment communities and rental properties in the Charlotte, NC area . This is a hands-on field position supporting a multi-property residential portfolio. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, comfortable working inside occupied and vacant apartments, and experienced in identifying and treating common residential pest problems. We are looking for someone who can do more than simply spray units. The technician should be able to identify the source of pest activity, recommend corrective measures, document conditions, communicate with property managers and residents, and follow up until the issue is resolved. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled pest control treatments at apartment communities and rental homes throughout Charlotte. Inspect occupied units, vacant units, common areas, building exteriors, storage areas, trash areas, and other locations for pest activity. Identify pest type, infestation level, possible entry points, sanitation concerns, and contributing conditions. Treat and control common residential pests, including: Roaches German cockroaches Ants Spiders Fleas Bed bugs Silverfish Wasps and other insects Rodents, including mice and rats Perform preventive pest control treatments on a scheduled basis. Place and monitor traps, bait stations, glue boards, and other pest-control devices as appropriate. Perform crack-and-crevice treatments and identify areas requiring sealing or exclusion work. Inspect for rodent entry points and recommend or perform minor exclusion work when appropriate. Conduct follow-up inspections and treatments until pest issues are resolved. Provide special attention to recurring or high-infestation units. Coordinate unit access with property managers, maintenance staff, and residents. Clearly explain preparation requirements to residents before treatments when necessary. Notify management when poor housekeeping, moisture, leaks, trash, structural openings, or other property conditions are contributing to pest activity. Maintain accurate records of every inspection and treatment performed. Take photographs when necessary to document infestation conditions, treatment areas, or resident/property concerns. Record chemicals/products used and treatment details in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. Maintain pest-control chemicals, equipment, sprayers, traps, PPE, and supplies in a safe and organized manner. Follow all product labels, SDS requirements, safety procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Communicate recurring pest problems and recommend long-term corrective solutions to management. Assist property and maintenance teams in developing preventive pest-control strategies for problem buildings. Required Qualifications Previous pest-control experience strongly preferred. Experience servicing apartments, multifamily housing, rental homes, or residential properties is highly preferred. Knowledge of common residential pests and appropriate treatment methods. Ability to identify signs of infestation and determine likely causes and entry points. Ability to safely handle pesticides, chemicals, traps, and pest-control equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to document work accurately. Ability to work independently and manage a daily route across multiple properties. Good communication and customer-service skills. Ability to interact professionally with residents, property managers, maintenance technicians, and vendors. Valid driver's license and reliable driving record. Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds and regularly walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and work in tight spaces. Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be dependable and able to report to scheduled appointments on time. Preferred Qualifications North Carolina pest-control license/certification or registration applicable to the work performed. Experience treating German cockroach and bed bug infestations in multifamily housing. Rodent-control and exclusion experience. Experience performing preventive treatments for large apartment communities. Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices. Experience documenting treatments using property-management software, mobile applications, or electronic work orders. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Typical Daily Duties A typical day may include visiting several Venture Rentals properties in the Charlotte area, treating scheduled units, responding to resident pest-control work orders, inspecting vacant apartments before move-in, following up on previously treated units, checking exterior bait stations, documenting conditions, and providing the property manager with a list of units requiring additional treatment or corrective action.
