Provided Pro 1 Pest Control is looking for a Pest Exclusion Technician with carpentry, construction, or skilled trades experience to join our team on the Outer Banks. This is a hands-on position focused primarily on rodent and wildlife exclusion, finding how pests are getting into homes and commercial buildings and physically securing those structures to keep them out. The work involves carpentry, minor construction, and repair work, including cutting and fitting materials, sealing entry points, installing barriers and covers, and working in crawl spaces, attics, and around rooflines. Pest control experience is not required. If you bring the construction skills and willingness to learn, we'll train you on the pest control side and support you in obtaining your North Carolina pest control applicator license. What You'll Do Inspect homes and commercial buildings to find rodent and wildlife entry points Seal, screen, and close off entry points using carpentry and minor construction techniques Install bath trap covers, vent screens, barriers, and other exclusion materials Cut or bore into structures to access infested or vulnerable areas, then repair and close them properly Make minor structural repairs related to pest damage Set mechanical traps and bait where needed and remove trapped or dead animals Measure areas, estimate materials, and work cleanly and professionally on-site Build positive relationships with clients and explain problems and recommendations Keep your service vehicle organized, clean, professional, and stocked Manage your schedule and route and respond quickly to client needs As you are trained, you will also handle pest control service work, including identifying common pests such as rats, termites, ants, spiders, wasps, mosquitoes, and bed bugs; safely mixing and applying chemical solutions, powders, and granules; and following all label instructions and safety procedures. What You Bring Carpentry, construction, or skilled trades experience Comfort working with tools and equipment Ability to work from sketches, drawings, or plans Ability to follow oral and written instructions Basic math skills to estimate materials and time Willingness to learn pest control and obtain a North Carolina pest control applicator license Ability to lift 50 lbs, crawl through attics, use a ladder to access roofs, and inspect crawl spaces Enjoyment of working with people, animals, technology, and the outdoors Requirements High school diploma or GED Clean driving record Ability to pass a background check Documentation of ability to work in the United States Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends and evenings Pest control experience is a plus, but not required.
