A Pest Control Technician controls problems with unwanted animals and insects in residences, commercial buildings and the areas around them. Inspects buildings, identifies pests and determines pest control treatment. Provides applications of chemical pesticides and sets traps or bait. Makes minor building repairs as needed to keep pests out.

About us Horizon Pest Control is a small business in Carlsbad, NM. We service Eddy County and surrounding areas. We are fast-paced. We are an equal opportunity employer.

Duties:
Treating residential and commercial applications for insects and weeds Entering daily data into program for billing and record keeping purposes Managing individual daily schedules Communicating to clients, staff, and management Keeping records of tasks completed Mixing chemicals needed for each job Using safety measures to apply chemical
Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older. Proficient in basic computer operations and iPad usage. Proper time management Basic communication skills Transportation to and from work Clean driving record Must pass a drug test and physical Have a valid driver's license + 3 years driving experience. Must pass background check Requires Pest/Weed Control license after training. (See below) Must be able to follow proper safety procedures. Must be comfortable and able to handle hazardous chemicals. Be in physical wellbeing to lift up to 50 lbs, withstand and be willing to work in a hot climate, walk long distances, climb ladders, and use a hand sprayer for most of the day. Hours- Depending on agreed hours worked; hours may include weekends, weekday evenings, and being on call once a month. During peak season some overtime may be required. Training- Will be required to get licensed by passing a test within 6 weeks of start date. We will train, provide training material, and pay for testing and license. Background screening will be conducted, including motor vehicle records and criminal background checks; reviews will be conducted in accordance with applicable laws. Must be able to pass a drug test, have a valid drivers license, have your own transportation to work, and a clean driving record.
