A Pest Control Technician controls problems with unwanted animals and insects in residences, commercial buildings and the areas around them. Inspects buildings, identifies pests and determines pest control treatment. Provides applications of chemical pesticides and sets traps or bait. Makes minor building repairs as needed to keep pests out.

Maintenance Director Education:

High school diploma or

GED Certificates/License Requirements:

Valid Drivers License Valid Noncommercial Certified Applicator license granted by the

Texas Department of Agriculture Experience Required:

One year pest control applicator experience

Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of methods and materials for pest control and TDA regulations Ability to implement policy and procedures Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to operate pesticide application equipment

Physical/Mental Demands:

Heavy lifting up to 45+lbs; Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions; Maintain emotional control under stress
