$300•450 per day, based on experience and skill level Job Overview Radley's Tree Service is a small, family-owned tree care company looking for an experienced contract tree climber to work with us a minimum of three days per week, with the potential for additional days as our schedule requires. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys climbing, takes pride in quality tree work, and wants to continue developing their skills as a climber and arborist. We are a small crew where everyone works together and is treated like family. We care about doing things the right way, taking care of our customers, and creating an environment where good people enjoy coming to work. Our work ranges from detailed pruning and crown reduction to technical removals, including crane-assisted removals when appropriate. We need a climber who is comfortable with both pruning and removal work and understands that quality tree care is about more than simply getting the job done quickly. We strongly believe in continuing education and want someone interested in growing their knowledge of arboriculture. We are willing to support the right person with continuing education, arboriculture classes and training, and sponsored participation in climbing competitions. Responsibilities Perform professional tree pruning, crown reduction, structural pruning, deadwood removal, and clearance pruning Safely climb trees using appropriate climbing systems and techniques Perform technical tree and limb removals using proper rigging techniques Participate in crane-assisted tree removals Safely operate chainsaws and other professional tree-care equipment while aloft Work from bucket trucks when appropriate Evaluate tree structure, limb weight, rigging points, and potential hazards before making cuts Communicate effectively with the ground crew during climbing and rigging operations Follow professional pruning practices and established tree-care and safety standards Maintain a safe, organized, and team-oriented jobsite Experience & Qualifications Professional tree-climbing experience required Strong climbing ability and confidence working in large and challenging trees Experience with professional pruning, removals, rigging, and chainsaw operation Ability to perform quality pruning—not simply removals Understanding of proper pruning practices and tree structure Crane-removal experience is a plus Bucket-truck experience is a plus ISA Certified Arborist preferred, but not required Valid driver's license and clean driving record required Must be comfortable and capable of driving a pickup truck while safely towing a trailer Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work well as part of a small crew Must be comfortable performing physically demanding outdoor work Most importantly, we are looking for someone who takes pride in being a professional tree climber and enjoys the work.
