Position Summary The Tree Trimmer is responsible for maintaining the health, safety, and appearance of trees and shrubs through trimming, pruning, removal, and general tree care services. This position requires the safe operation of chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, climbing equipment, and other specialized tools while following all company safety procedures. Job Responsibilites Prune and trim trees and shrubs to promote healthy growth and improve appearance. Remove dead, hazardous, or obstructive branches and trees as directed. Operate chainsaws, pole saws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and other tree care equipment. Climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and other safety equipment when necessary. Operate aerial lifts and bucket trucks safely and efficiently. Clean and maintain work sites, including removal and disposal of branches, logs, and debris. Assist with planting, watering, mulching, and general landscape maintenance as needed. Follow all OSHA, ANSI, company, and site-specific safety requirements. Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and customers. Attend safety meetings and training sessions. Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, and job site hazards immediately. Qualifications Previous tree care, forestry, landscaping, or arboriculture experience preferred. Ability to safely operate chainsaws and other tree-trimming equipment. Knowledge of tree pruning standards and techniques preferred. Valid driver's license preferred; CDL is a plus. Ability to work safely at heights and in various weather conditions. Skills Strong understanding of tree trimming and pruning practices. Ability to safely use hand tools and power equipment. Knowledge of proper PPE and workplace safety procedures. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to recognize tree diseases, pests, and structural issues. Dependable with a strong work ethic and attention to detail. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and heavier loads with assistance. Ability to push, pull, bend, kneel, climb, and work at heights. Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical labor throughout the workday. Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other environmental conditions. Working Conditions Outdoor work environment. Exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and weather extremes.
