Duties Operate heavy machinery including dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, bucket trucks, and bucket operation equipment to perform excavation, lifting, and maintenance tasks Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on water systems, underground utilities, pipelines, and power tools to ensure optimal performance Perform fiber splicing and utility locating to support network integrity and service delivery Use hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, and rigging equipment for repairs and construction activities Engage in manual handling and heavy lifting to install or repair infrastructure components in outdoor environments Climb poles or structures using ladders or climbing gear to access utility lines or equipment for maintenance or repairs Support on-call coverage for emergency repairs or maintenance needs outside regular working hours Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with industry standards Skills Proficiency in heavy equipment operation including dozer, excavator, loader, backhoe, bucket truck, and bucket operation machinery Mechanical knowledge related to water systems, pipelines, underground utilities, and power tools Experience with maintenance, repair and operations (MRO), including welding and equipment maintenance Ability to perform utility locating using specialized tools such as voltmeters and underground detection devices Strong outdoor work experience with a focus on construction site safety and manual handling techniques Familiarity with safety protocol adherence including climbing safety procedures and ladder use Knowledge of fiber splicing techniques and high/low voltage electrical systems Commercial truck driving skills for transporting equipment or materials as needed Ability to work independently or as part of a team in physically demanding environments requiring heavy lifting and rigging skills Experience working in the energy & utilities sector with a focus on underground utilities and water systems The following education and license requirements and preferences apply: Possession of a valid Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required. Possession of a Class I or higher Wastewater Operator License is preferred. Possession of a Class I or higher Wastewater Collection System Operator Certification is preferred. Possession of a Sewer Video Inspection Certification from National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO) is preferred.
