Tree Climber (1099 Independent Contractor)Position Summary Arbor Tech Tree Service Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Tree Climber to perform professional tree pruning, removals, and related tree care services. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, physically fit, and able to work efficiently as part of a professional tree crew while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Compensation Starting Pay:
$20.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience.
Performance Review:
After 60 days, compensation may increase to $25.00-$35.00 per hour based on job performance, reliability, safety, productivity, and quality of work. Bonuses are also given. Employment Classification This position is offered as a 1099 Independent Contractor . Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and any required licenses or certifications. Contractors must provide valid tax information before beginning work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Climb trees using approved climbing equipment, ropes, saddles, harnesses, and rigging systems. Perform tree pruning, trimming, and removals safely and efficiently. Execute technical removals using proper rigging and controlled lowering techniques. Safely operate chainsaws, pole saws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and other tree care equipment. Inspect trees for hazards, structural defects, and disease. Assist with job site setup, cleanup, and maintaining a safe work environment. Work closely with crew members to complete jobs safely and efficiently. Maintain climbing gear and equipment in safe working condition. Follow all applicable safety procedures and industry best practices. Represent Arbor Tech Tree Service Inc. professionally when interacting with customers. Qualifications Previous tree climbing experience required Experience with rope rigging and technical tree removals. Ability to safely operate chainsaws and other tree care equipment. Strong understanding of safe climbing practices. Valid driver's license preferred.
CDL, ISA
certifications, CPR, and First Aid certifications are a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to climb and work at heights exceeding 100 feet. Lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Excellent balance, endurance, and physical strength. Safety Expectations Safety is our highest priority.
