AI/Machine Learning Software Engineer

Core4ce is seeking a talented AI/Machine Learning Software Engineer to join our AAIM Lab team in Beavercreek, OH. The Autonomy, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning (AAIM) Lab accelerates problem-solving and undertakes development challenges for various government customers and partners, employing existing and to-be-developed AI/ML tools. This position offers hands-on experience building production AI/ML systems for defense and government applications, working with cutting-edge technologies including large language models, cloud platforms, and modern software engineering practices. The ideal candidate will assist with the development of AI/ML applications and infrastructure that support our customers.

Responsibilities:

AI/ML Development Implement and optimize machine learning algorithms and workflows Develop and integrate large language model applications Build data processing pipelines for various document types and data sources Experiment with embedding models and vector search techniques Evaluate model performance and improve system accuracy through testing and iteration Software Engineering Develop backend APIs and services using modern Python frameworks Design and implement database integrations and data storage solutions Build scalable, maintainable code following best practices Write unit tests and contribute to system documentation Participate in code reviews and collaborative development processes Cloud Infrastructure & Deployment Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred) Work with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines Assist with monitoring, logging, and system optimization Support production deployments and troubleshooting User Interface Development Contribute to web-based user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks Build intuitive components for AI/ML application interactions Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs Implement responsive designs and user experience improvements •This position is designed to be flexible, with responsibilities evolving to meet business needs and enable individual growth.

Requirements:

Must be able to work in an office environment at a desk and computer May travel ~10% to conferences, program reviews, industry meetings, or other collaborative events.
