General Description The purpose of this position is to plan, organize, direct and evaluate all aspects of the Central Receiving Department to include mail service, student post office, and warehouse operations. Essential Job Duties Schedule departmental duties, and plan annual allocation programs as appropriate. Utilize the physical plant division's Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) and inventory software to track and report the department's work efforts.

Manage warehouse operations to include accurate and stable inventory levels to support maintenance and repair needs of the University. Work with Physical Plant supervisors to ensure accurate quantities of stock is available.

Manage all central receiving operations to include verification of delivery, receipt and processing of items shipped to the university.

Process Return Material Authorizations (RMA) for University Departments.

Prepare and monitor departmental budget and unit plans as required. .

Oversee the overall operation of campus mail services, and student postal requirements. Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate handling, distribution and processing of Messenger and U.S. Mail throughout the University campus. Review and develop business processes and reporting tools for campus mail operations.

Coordinate staff training in order to ensure that safety procedures, knowledge, skills and abilities meet job duty requirements within the department.

Provide leadership, evaluate, approve time sheets and supervise direct reports in performing duties as charged.

Coordinate the liquidation of all University properties designated as "surplus," through public sale or other means consistent with Alabama law and University regulations. Report deposits of sale proceeds.

Assist the University Business Office as needed with fixed asset inventory control.

Cultivate and maintain good working relationships with University vendors. Essential Job Duties are intended to be examples of duties and are not intended to be all inclusive. Knowledge of inventory control processes and procedures;

Knowledge of effective budgetary management procedures;

Ability to exercise discernment and good judgment in making decisions;

Ability to coordinate and direct multiple tasks;

Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and students;

Ability to supervise and train others effectively;

Ability to work on-call and/or before or after work hours as needed;

Knowledge of University operations, policies and procedures. Education and Experience The educational requirement for this position is: High School diploma/GED
