This position is posted in compliance with Alabama Code §16-22-15. It is the intent to place a current employee in this position. The Transcript Evaluator is responsible for conducting evaluations of coursework from colleges and universities and advising and facilitating admission and enrollment of applicants/students.

Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule E4, Grade 5: $35,670

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Process and evaluate coursework from college/universities, determine course applicability to degree programs, and post eligible transfer credit to student records. Evaluate and post AP, CLEP, and IB credits to student records. Post military evaluation results to student records. Assist advisors and other faculty/staff with admissions questions. Send results of course (transfer) evaluations to students. Assist student with the admissions and registration process. Handle inquiries from applicants/students regarding transfer questions. Perform all duties with professionalism. Use professional discretion in maintaining confidentiality of student records. Alert supervisor of any issues that are in need of upper management attention. Load information into Banner student information system. Process record change requests and academic record update forms. Notify students who have outstanding transcripts by monitoring files. Answer telephone and assist with enrollment services information. Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications A minimum of two (2) years (64 semester hours) postsecondary education from an accredited institution is required . Ability to utilize Excel or other database software to sort and manage lists is required. Ability to utilize Word or other word processing tools to prepare and communicate information is required . Experience with Ellucian Banner or other higher education administrative ERP systems is required . Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate through their experiences and accomplishments Knowledge of community college policies and procedures. Knowledge of and ability to use Banner Student information system and additional components including Application Extender and Banner Document Management System (BDMS). Knowledge of rules of grammar. Knowledge of generally accepted office practices and procedures, including records management. Knowledge of and/or ability to utilize e-script transcripts. Knowledge of FERPA. Skill in operating a mouse to control a computer. Skill in operating a computer. Skill in utilizing a multi-line phone system. Skill in operating a fax machine, copier, scanner, label maker. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to prescribed routines. Ability to make decisions based on correspondence, data or other information. Ability to utilize and search the internet for information. Ability to utilize Application Extender and BDMS. Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues. Ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to work and communicate with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to utilize email systems to communicate information. Ability to work with minimal supervision/work independently. Ability to operate in a professional manner at all times.
