Animal Care Assistant Manager

Seeking an experienced, responsible Assistant Animal Care Manager at the Leesburg Animal Park. The Assistant Manager is responsible for establishing & implementing protocols for animal care, health and husbandry. Areas of responsibilities include but are not limited to: Uphold and enforce established opening and closing protocols for the park. Maintain accurate records within the animal care software system. Train animal care staff on proper feeding, cleaning, enrichment and daily husbandry procedures. Perform and oversee animal encounters and educational shows; train staff to deliver them effectively. Establish and enforce high standards of cleanliness throughout animal areas. Provide care for sick or injured animals and coordinate treatment with veterinary professionals as needed. Coordinate and communicate with veterinarians, farriers, and other animal care specialists. Ensure compliance with all United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) requirements. Maintain and uphold standards set by the Zoological Association of America (ZAA). Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Must have 2+ years paid experience with exotic and/or large farm animals in a zoological setting. Please submit your resume for consideration.
