Kennel Manager About Tri-County Animal Rescue Tri-County Animal Rescue is a no-kill animal rescue dedicated to saving lives, providing compassionate care, and finding loving forever homes for dogs and cats in our community. Every role at Tri-County plays a vital part in giving animals a second chance. Position Summary The Kennel Technician is a hands-on, essential role responsible for the daily care, cleanliness, and comfort of our animals. This position requires compassion, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. Kennel Technicians ensure a safe, clean, and loving environment while supporting the health and well-being of every animal in our care. Key Responsibilities Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, play yards, and common areas according to shelter protocols Feed animals according to dietary guidelines and monitor food and water intake Observe animals daily for changes in behavior, appetite, or health and report concerns to supervisors Assist with bathing, basic grooming, and enrichment activities Provide gentle handling, comfort, and positive interaction to animals Support veterinary staff with animal transport, restraint, and basic care as needed Launder bedding, blankets, towels, and cleaning supplies Follow all safety, disease-control, and cleaning procedures Assist with adoption floor presentation and maintaining a welcoming environment for visitors Perform additional duties as assigned to support shelter operations Qualifications & Skills Genuine love for animals and commitment to animal welfare Ability to handle dogs and cats of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments Strong attention to cleanliness and detail Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Comfortable with standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working on your feet Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively Previous animal care or kennel experience preferred but not required (training provided) Schedule Requirements Must be available to work weekends and some holidays What We Offer Meaningful, hands-on work saving animal lives Supportive and compassionate team environment Opportunity to learn animal care, behavior, and shelter operations Employee discounts on veterinary services Health Insurance after 3 months
