West Lafayette Job Summary The Purdue Small Animal Hospital is seeking dedicated Animal Care Technicians to join our team in supporting the David and Bonnie Brunner Purdue Veterinary Medical Hospital Complex. In this essential role, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the physical and environmental conditions of small animals in both clinical and research settings. Your daily responsibilities will include feeding, watering, grooming, bathing, and exercising animals, as well as providing general care to ensure their overall welfare. You will also evaluate the condition of animals, collect and record health data, and help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment. In addition to animal care, you will assist with ordering and stocking supplies, follow established protocols and standard operating procedures, and perform terminal cleaning of departments and wards. You may also be asked to provide guidance or training to junior staff and will have the opportunity to work toward certification in infection control and other relevant areas. This position requires flexibility and may involve extended hours, including availability on holidays, weekends, and in emergency situations.About Us:

Education and Experience:
High school diploma/GED 3 years of related work experience working with large animals/small animalsSkills Needed:
Must be able to read/write English Ability to work without close supervision Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Must be able to operate power tools Must be able to lift and carry 50 to 80 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally Must be comfortable working around small and large animal species: may include, but not limited to dogs/cats/horses/cattle/goats/sheep/llamas Valid US or Canadian driver's license What is helpful: Custodial experience Large animal//small animal handling experience Forklift experienceAdditional Information:
