Animal Caretaker

Hours We are in need of weekend help (Saturday's especially), as well as afternoons (12-5pm) through the week. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals while developing valuable skills in animal handling, veterinary support, and customer service. Duties Feed, water, and monitor the health status of animals, ensuring they receive proper nutrition and hydration. Perform dog training exercises and assist with behavioral enrichment activities to promote positive behavior. Handle animals safely using appropriate restraint techniques to prevent injury or stress. Administering medications and supporting veterinary exams. Groom pets through bathing, brushing, nail trimming, and other pet grooming activities to maintain cleanliness and comfort. Maintain detailed records of animal health, behavior, feeding schedules, and activities to ensure consistent care. Qualifications Prior experience in dog handling, pet grooming, or pet sitting is highly desirable. Knowledge of veterinary procedures or veterinary technician experience is a strong plus. Experience with animal handling skills are essential for safety and comfort. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with larger animals. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and visitors. Strong attention to detail in recording animal care information accurately. A compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to animal welfare is vital for success in this role.
