MISSION STATEMENT

PURPOSE Under the general supervision of the Building Principal, the classroom teacher facilitates student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ability to read music Experience with directing choirs and teaching students how to sing Basic piano skills (to lead vocal warm ups) Ability to model proper vocal technique Student centered individual Team player Ability to multitask Flexible Structures a physical classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and maximizes student learning. Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve an optimal learning atmosphere in the classroom. Performs supervision as needed. Seeks to improve competency by participating in personal and professional growth activities in conjunction with building and District goals.
