Job Summary:
Container Technologies Industries LLC (CTI), a supplier of nuclear waste containers for
DOE & DOD
sites nationwide, is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader for the position of AP / AR Clerk at our facility in Helenwood, TN. The AP / AR Clerk will be responsible for managing payment of receipt of invoices, as well as some administrative tasks. Position Summary The AP/AR Clerk is responsible for managing the company's outgoing payments, incoming receivables, weekly payroll processing, and financial reporting support. This role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies while supporting overall financial operations through organized recordkeeping and transaction management. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP): Review, verify, and process vendor invoices in a timely manner Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices for accuracy Prepare and process check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers Maintain vendor files and respond to vendor inquiries Ensure proper coding of expenses to general ledger accounts Monitor and track outstanding payables and due dates Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate and distribute customer invoices Post payments (checks, ACH, credit cards) accurately to customer accounts Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts Communicate with customers regarding billing issues and payment status
Payroll:
Process weekly payroll for all employees accurately and on time Collect, review, and verify timesheets for completeness and accuracy Ensure proper calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions Maintain payroll records in compliance with company policies and regulations Coordinate with HR on employee changes, benefits, and deductions Address employee payroll inquiries in a timely manner
Reporting & Finance Support:
Prepare and distribute weekly financial reports for finance calls Compile key metrics including cash position, payables, receivables, and payroll summaries Assist in identifying variances, trends, and discrepancies in financial data Support leadership with ad hoc financial reports and data requests
General Duties:
Maintain accurate and organized financial records Assist with month-end closing processes Prepare reports for management as needed Support audits by providing requested documentation Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or finance preferred 5-10 years of AP/AR, payroll, or general accounting experience Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency in accounting and payroll software and Microsoft Excel Good organizational and time management skills Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
