Appliance Refrigeration Specialist Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Appliance Refrigeration Specialist to join our service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of residential and commercial refrigeration appliances, including refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, and cooling systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in refrigeration appliances Perform routine maintenance and inspections on refrigerators, freezers, and related equipment Replace or repair defective components, such as compressors, evaporators, motors, or thermostats Recharge refrigeration systems and check for leaks using proper tools and techniques Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams Provide accurate estimates for repairs and explain findings and options to customers Maintain detailed service records and documentation for each job Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including proper handling of refrigerants Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle and inventory of parts and tools Deliver excellent customer service and represent the company professionally at all times

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification in HVAC/R preferred EPA Section 608 Certification (Type I, II, or Universal) required 2+ years of experience in appliance or refrigeration repair Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, and diagnostics Proficient in using tools and diagnostic equipment Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with multiple brands and models of refrigeration appliances Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required Familiarity with mobile dispatching and service software

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in customers' homes or commercial locations May involve standing, kneeling, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working in confined or hot spaces Occasional evening or weekend shifts may be required based on workload
