Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Journeyman Electrician to oversee electrical projects across commercial and industrial sites. The ideal candidate will possess extensive electrical expertise, including programmable logic controllers, low and high voltage systems, and blueprint reading. This leadership role involves managing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex electrical systems, ensuring compliance with NEC standards and safety regulations. The Lead Journeyman Electrician will coordinate teams, interpret schematics, and execute renovation and construction projects with precision and professionalism. Responsibilities Lead and supervise electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities on commercial and industrial sites. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate project execution. Install, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage and high voltage electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as ohmmeters. Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation systems. Ensure all work complies with NEC standards, safety protocols, and local electrical codes. Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, and clients to meet project specifications and deadlines. Conduct inspections to identify potential issues related to wiring, grounding, or system faults. Mentor junior electricians and apprentices on best practices, safety procedures, and technical skills. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for compliance purposes. Qualifications Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong background in electrical systems installation and maintenance. Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification. Extensive knowledge of NEC regulations, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and low/high voltage systems. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, power tools, hand tools, ohmmeters, and other testing devices. Construction site experience including renovation projects and new installations. Ability to read technical drawings such as schematics related to electrical systems. Familiarity with frame carpentry or handyman skills is a plus for supporting various aspects of construction projects. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively on complex projects. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in troubleshooting electrical issues. Physical ability to work at heights or in confined spaces as required by construction environments. This position offers an opportunity for experienced electricians to lead major projects while applying their technical expertise in a dynamic environment focused on safety and quality standards.
Pay:
$35.00 - $45.00 per hour
