Apprentice Bartender/Barback

Job Summary Join our vibrant hospitality team as an Apprentice Bartender/Barback, where your energy and enthusiasm will help create memorable experiences for our guests. In this paid role, you will support bartenders by maintaining a clean and organized bar area, assisting with food and beverage service, and ensuring smooth operations during busy nights and events. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your craft cocktail skills in a lively cocktail bar setting, gain hands-on experience in customer service and bar operations, all while working in a dynamic environment that values your growth and dedication. Looking for someone with bar / serving experience who is looking to grow into craft bartender. Starting as a barback Friday & Saturdays with growth to covering bar shifts as well as Tuesday solo shift. $10 an hour plus tips with performance based raises. 20 hours a week / part time. Desire to learn, motivated, creative, detail oriented. Duties Assist bartenders with preparing and restocking beverages, garnishes, and bar supplies to ensure efficient service. Maintain cleanliness of the bar area by cleaning glassware, utensils, counters, and equipment regularly. Bus tables and clear empty glasses or dishes to keep the environment tidy and inviting. Operate Toast POS system for cash handling, order processing, and billing. Help with setup and breakdown of special events. Ensure compliance with food handling safety standards and proper sanitation procedures at all times. Communicate effectively with team members to deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting. Qualifications Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or hospitality is preferred but not required; eagerness to learn is essential. Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team are vital for success. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as cleaning and bussing efficiently. Knowledge of food handling safety standards and basic kitchen or hotel experience is advantageous. Prior experience in a cocktail bar can provide valuable insight into high-energy service dynamics.
