Apprentice Carpenter / Laborer

Job Summary We are seeking a talented craftsman to join our team enhancing homes. The ideal candidate will have a foundational background in various carpentry and construction tasks, and understand a wide range of tools, and must be willing and able to learn new skills quickly on the job. The apprentice carpenter/laborer will be involved in a range of projects, from supporting construction of built-in shelving units from scratch, to cabinet installation, to finish and trim carpentry, to broader restoration and remodeling activities. This role requires a commitment to quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively on project sites. Most project sites are finished residences, so cleanliness and professionalism is critical.

Standard Job Duties :

Show up to job sites timely and demonstrate cleanliness and professionalism. Read drawings and communicate effectively to understand project requirements and layout. Perform demolition of cabinetry, countertops, walls, and flooring, as needed. Support construction of cabinetry, shelving, ceiling beams, and other products from scratch with design documentation. Support frame carpentry, trim carpentry, and cabinet installation according to project specifications. Engage in sanding, painting, staining, and finishing of wood products. Engage in drywall repair and/or drywall hanging, when necessary. Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various construction tasks. Carry out fixture installation, door hanging, caulking, and other various finishing tasks. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols. Requirements Foundational experience with handyman work, carpentry, construction or the restoration industry. Existing skills in woodworking, fabrication, and assembly, are preferred. Ability to work independently on tasks, as well as part of a team on diverse projects. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Must be physically fit to handle the demands of the job including lifting heavy materials. Must speak English fluently. Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites. Must have a clean criminal record.
