Apprentice Lineman or Journeyman Lineman

The City of Red Bud has an opening for a full-time employee as an Electric Apprentice or Journeyman Lineman in the Utility Department. This position requires experience in underground and overhead distribution/service installations and maintenance work. Duties for an apprentice position may include but are not limited to the following:

• Assisting the journeyman lineman or foreman while learning the trade
• Operating trenching machines and bucket trucks
• Connecting, disconnecting, installing, and removing electrical devices Duties for a journeyman position may include but are not limited to the following:
• Installing and maintaining power lines, transformers, and electrical equipment
• Troubleshooting and repairing damaged lines and equipment
• Assist in the training of any apprentice lineman The City offers a very competitive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, vacation, sick leave, and pension.

The salary for this position will be in the range of $29.85 to $40.87 per hour based on level of training, experience, and qualifications.

Requirements include:

a valid Class B CDL driver's license or have the ability to obtain one, physical, drug screen, and background check.. Applications for this position must be completed on forms furnished by the City.
