Full-Time Position Overview The Project Architect role offers licensed architects the opportunity to lead design implementation, technical documentation, and project coordination across projects of varying complexity. This position combines design excellence, technical rigor, and team mentorship to ensure the delivery of high-quality, coordinated construction documents aligned with client goals and firm standards. The Senior Project Architect designation reflects a higher level of leadership, experience, and responsibility, including greater oversight of project delivery, mentoring responsibilities, and technical decision-making. The ultimate objective of this role is the development of accurate, coordinated, and exceptional design documents while contributing to a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and design excellence within Studio+ . Key Responsibilities Design Leadership & Project Delivery Provide creative architectural solutions informed by project requirements, client goals, and industry best practices Lead development of design and construction documents with strong attention to detail and quality Translate design intent into clear, coordinated BIM models and drawing sets Ensure projects meet regulatory requirements, permitting standards, and client expectations Support bidding, permitting, and construction administration processes Technical Execution & Quality Control Lead Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) efforts on assigned projects Redline and review drawing sets to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and clarity Maintain BIM files and coordinate with consulting engineers and interior designers Produce reports, specifications, and technical responses as directed by project leadership Support documentation distribution to clients, contractors, and consultants Project Coordination & Oversight Coordinate with multidisciplinary consultants to ensure cohesive project execution Assist with scheduling, phasing, and production planning Support development of project budgets and monitor performance against targets Track project documentation, correspondence, and decision records Understand production requirements and workflow efficiencies that support project profitability Team Leadership & Mentorship Provide internal leadership for teams developing design and construction documents Mentor junior staff through drawing reviews, teaching opportunities, and technical guidance Promote architectural best practices, detailing standards, and design excellence Foster a collaborative environment that supports professional growth and knowledge sharing Required Qualifications & Experience Licensed Architect required Minimum 3 years of experience as a licensed architect (greater experience expected for Senior level) Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) or Master of Architecture (M.Arch) from an accredited institution required Current architectural license in California preferred; NCARB certification a plus Demonstrated experience with permitting, bidding, and construction administration Strong background in documentation production, coordination, and project delivery Proven ability to maintain strong client relationships and contribute to project success Experience with budget tracking, scheduling, and coordination processes Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Technical Skills Advanced proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and rendering software Strong drafting, illustration, and hand-sketching skills Experience coordinating consultants within BIM environments Ability to adapt and apply industry-standard architectural techniques and procedures Professional Competencies Strong design sensibility and attention to detail Excellent listening skills and ability to translate client needs into design solutions Strong communication and collaboration skills Sound judgment and independent decision-making ability Organizational skills supporting documentation accuracy and project clarity Leadership ability and comfort mentoring staff with varying experience levels Reviews code compliance, accessibility, building systems integration; coordinates with technical consultants (MEP, structural, civil). Reviews and may stamp drawings; ensures design intent is clear and consistent. Preferred Experience Experience in key markets served by the firm Proven track record in client satisfaction and successful project delivery Experience supporting project certification, plan review processes, or regulatory approvals Demonstrated leadership on complex or large-scale projects Work Environment This role is performed in a collaborative studio setting with periodic coordination meetings, consultant interaction, and potential site visits. The position requires sustained computer use, drawing review, and technical coordination tasks.
