Architectural Job Captain / Project Architect / Project Manager A growing, design-driven architecture and planning firm is seeking talented Job Captains; Project Architects, and Project Managers to join its Southern California team. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects across commercial, civic, education, healthcare, multifamily, mixed-use, and residential markets. The firm offers a collaborative environment where team members are involved throughout the full project lifecycle-from early planning and conceptual design through construction documentation and construction administration. Candidates who enjoy technical problem-solving, mentoring others, and seeing projects brought from concept to completion will thrive in this role. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation and coordination of construction documents in partnership with project leadership. Coordinate drawing sets and project information among internal design teams, engineering consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders. Support construction administration activities, including review of submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and related documentation. Review applicable building codes and support project compliance requirements. Apply a strong understanding of construction methods, detailing, building systems, and industry standards. Produce and coordinate technical drawing packages using Revit. Perform quality-control reviews of design and construction documents. Guide, mentor, and support architectural designers and production staff. Participate in client, consultant, and internal project meetings as needed. Stay current on evolving design technology, industry standards, codes, and professional best practices. Qualifications Job Captain 3+ years of professional architectural experience. Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related discipline. Strong Revit proficiency within a professional architectural environment. Working knowledge of construction documentation, detailing, and coordination. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Senior Job Captain / Project Architect / Project Manager 7+ years of progressive architectural experience, including responsibility for project coordination and document production. California architectural license preferred or required depending on the level and scope of the role. Demonstrated ability to lead documentation efforts, coordinate consultants, and support projects through construction. Experience leading junior team members and maintaining document quality. Background working with public-sector, education, healthcare, civic, commercial, or multifamily projects is highly valued. Preferred Experience LEED, WELL, or other sustainability credentials. Familiarity with California public-sector or healthcare project requirements, including DSA and/or
HCAI/OSHPD
processes. Experience working across multiple project types and project delivery phases. Ability to balance technical production responsibilities with project leadership and client service.
