Architectural Job Captain / Experienced Designer Job Description This position offers an opportunity for a skilled Architectural Job Captain or expereicned Designer to lead the production of design deliverables, construction documentation, and construction administration activities. You will coordinate multiple architectural projects, ensure compliance with codes and regulations, and guide an extended team to deliver high-quality contract documents on schedule. The role suits a detail-oriented professional who enjoys taking projects from schematic design through construction documents while mentoring junior staff and collaborating closely with project leadership. Responsibilities Develop and coordinate the production of high-quality contract documents based on prototype standards and job-specific requirements. Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day activities of multiple architectural projects to ensure efficient progress and timely completion. Ensure all designs and documents comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and permitting requirements. Guide and support the extended project team in creating complete design and construction document sets. Collaborate closely with Project Architects and Project Managers to maintain the design vision and project intent throughout all phases. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to keep projects on schedule and within scope. Lead the preparation of construction documents and permit sets, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and constructability. Participate in construction administration tasks as needed, supporting the project through to completion. Provide mentorship, coaching, and technical guidance to junior design staff to support their growth and development. Work independently and communicate effectively in a hybrid or remote coordination environment as required. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Architectural Designer or Job Captain. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD at a high level (approximately 8 out of 10 proficiency in both). Minimum of 2 years of experience working on government, public works, or large-scale tenant improvement (TI) projects. Strong experience working on large-scale TI projects, K-12 facilities, or public works projects. Demonstrated ability to take at least one project from schematic design through to construction documents. Extensive experience assembling complete construction document sets and permit sets. Strong architectural design skills with the ability to translate concepts into detailed documentation. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities. Effective remote communication skills for coordinating with project teams and stakeholders. Proficiency with Revit Architecture for design and documentation workflows. Proficiency with AutoCAD for drafting and coordination tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in construction documentation for complex or multi-phase projects. Experience in coordinating with public agencies and understanding public-sector project requirements. Experience in construction administration is beneficial. Interest in mentoring junior team members and contributing to a collaborative studio culture. Candidates with Project Manager or Project Architect experience may also be considered for this role. Work Environment This is an on-site role based in a Las Vegas office, offering a structured but supportive work schedule. Standard hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The position is salaried and exempt. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Las Vegas, NV. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
