We are seeking a Project Architect / Team Leader to lead design efforts for our Las Vegas team on hospitality and gaming projects across all phases of design and delivery. (Title is Project Architect for licensed candidates; Team Leader for candidates actively pursuing licensure.) This role is ideal for an experienced designer who combines technical leadership with design vision, leading small to medium-scale project scopes and managing teams with varying levels of experience. This individual leads the design process from concept through construction, taking responsible control over technical submissions requiring a stamp and seal when licensed. Experience in the hospitality and gaming market sector is required, with demonstrated project involvement on resort, hotel, and/or casino project types.
What you will be doing:
Participate in forming a high-performing project team alongside the Project Manager, consistent with established teaming practices
Lead the development of design solutions, coordination, and production efforts on small to medium-scale projects through an iterative, collaborative design process
Lead client collaboration, delivering clear, bi-directional feedback between the internal team and client groups
Encourage and apply regenerative design approaches to the built, social, and natural environments
Support team member development and growth through thoughtful task assignment
Manage collaboration with consultants and contractors to achieve the best design outcomes
Identify potential project risks and raise concerns with the Project Manager and Project Executive
Participate in the project pursuit process, including preparing and reviewing proposal content and participating in interviews
Lead code reviews, identifying and resolving special code conditions
Direct the QA/QC process to ensure it's completed fully and on time
Lead coordination and engagement with the Specifications team
Lead design and validation of building envelope systems
Lead communication with the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) as needed
Lead construction administration activities alongside other project leaders and on-site staff
Maintain responsible control over technical submissions requiring a signature and seal, if licensed
Take accountability for a complete, quality set of architectural documents that meets all contract requirements
Proficiently use MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and Revit/BIM 360, with growing familiarity in Rhino, Enscape, and Lumion What we look for: 8+ years of professional architecture experience, with a focus on hospitality and/or gaming projects
Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
Licensed Architect preferred; actively pursuing licensure required. NCARB a plus. (Candidates who are licensed will be considered for the Project Architect title; candidates actively pursuing licensure will be considered for the Team Leader title.)
Strong portfolio demonstrating hospitality and/or gaming design experience, with a track record of leading projects through multiple phases
Experience managing small teams and supporting team members with varying levels of experience
Proven ability to collaborate with consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams across all phases of project delivery
Proficiency in Revit/BIM 360, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of visualization and modeling tools such as Rhino, Enscape, and/or Lumion
Strong understanding of building envelope systems, codes, and permitting/AHJ processes
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills The salary range for this position reflects both the Project Architect (licensed) and Team Leader (non-licensed/pursuing licensure) title levels. Placement within the range will be determined based on licensure status, experience, and qualifications.
