Job Title:
Architect II Job Description We are seeking a licensed Architect II with a robust background in healthcare project experience to support small to mid-sized architectural projects. The role involves developing and delivering comprehensive construction documents, coordinating with consultants, and ensuring high-quality project outcomes. The Architect II operates both independently and under the guidance of senior leadership, potentially offering day-to-day direction to junior staff. Responsibilities Develop architectural solutions for small projects independently and mid-sized healthcare projects under the direction of senior architects or project managers. Prepare and oversee construction documents, specifications, and material selections. Perform programming, space planning, and project analysis with a focus on healthcare environments. Conduct site surveys, documentation, and field verification. Coordinate effectively with engineering disciplines and specialty consultants. Produce presentation materials and visual aids for client and internal use. Support construction administration, including submittal reviews and responses to RFIs. Apply current codes, standards, and best practices, including IBC, accessibility, and healthcare-related regulations. Stay current on building products, systems, and emerging healthcare design trends. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Architect I and entry-level staff. Meet project deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy. Essential Skills Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Newforma. Experience in architectural design, construction administration, design development, and construction documentation. Strong healthcare design experience with a focus on clinics, hospitals, and medical offices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Licensed Architect in Utah. 8+ years of professional architectural experience. Accredited degree from a NAAB-accredited program (preferred). Proven experience working on healthcare projects. Strong understanding of building systems, construction methods, and healthcare codes. Proficiency with IBC, accessibility requirements, and local zoning codes. Understanding of sustainability principles, integrated design, and LEED guidelines. Work Environment This position offers a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, following an initial 90-day period of 5 days in the office. In-office days are dependent on project team requirements. Employees can enjoy flexible start and end hours, with base hours from 8 am to 5 pm, allowing starts up to 2 hours before or after 8 am. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Salt Lake City, UT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr. Depending on years of experience, PTO of between 160 to 200 hours per year. 11.5 holidays PTO and holidays listed above Growth opportunity: Employees have started as runners/admin and completed their employment with company as principal. "Pay for pass" for licensure and professional certifications. Client pays for professional licensing and association dues.
