Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Architect / Residential Designer to join our growing team and contribute to high-quality residential design and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential construction documentation, excellent technical and design skills, and the ability to take a project from design development through a complete and coordinated construction drawing set. A minimum of 3 years of residential architectural drafting and construction documentation experience is required, and proficiency in Revit is a must . Position Responsibilities Under the direction of the Michael Katsaitis the Director of Planning and Design, the Project Architect / Designer will be responsible for: Preparing complete, accurate, and highly detailed residential construction documents. Developing plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and other drawings necessary for permitting and construction. Support Project Managers on residential architectural projects. Assist with projects from schematic design through construction administration. Create 3D BIM models using Revit. Assist with architectural design development and presentation graphics. Review shop drawings and product submittals during construction. Reviewing dimensions, materials, assemblies, and the relationship between individual building components and the overall design. Translating design concepts into clear, buildable construction documents that contractors and subcontractors can accurately execute. Coordinating drawings and project information with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal team members. Making revisions and adjustments to plans throughout the design and documentation process. Maintaining and updating drawing standards, prototypes, details, and Revit content. Identifying and resolving design and construction-documentation issues before they reach the field. Communicating project designs and technical information clearly through both written communication and presentations. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in residential architectural drafting and construction documentation. Bachelor's degree from an accredited Architecture program preferred. Strong proficiency in Revit is required . Thorough understanding of residential construction methods, building materials, detailing, and architectural drawing standards. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet project deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate technical information clearly with clients, contractors, consultants, vendors, and building officials. Comfortable working collaboratively in a team environment. Professional, dependable, personable, and service-oriented. A genuine interest in residential architecture and a desire to make a long-term commitment to professional growth and career development. Strong understanding of architectural practices and processes. Knowledge of Life Safety Codes, Building Codes, and specification writing. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
