Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic construction team as an Asphalt Paver Operator and play a vital role in creating smooth, durable roadways and paving projects. In this energetic role, you will operate and maintain paving equipment to ensure high-quality asphalt installation on various civil infrastructure projects. Your expertise will help deliver safe, efficient, and professional results that keep communities moving forward. Duties Operate asphalt pavers and paving equipment with precision to ensure even, high-quality paving surfaces in accordance with project specifications. Perform routine maintenance on heavy machinery including screeds, loaders, excavators, dump trucks, concrete mixers, and concrete pumping equipment to keep operations running smoothly. Assist with the preparation of construction sites by managing materials such as bituminous (asphalt) mixtures and concrete, ensuring proper placement and compaction. Follow safety regulations and protocols including DOT (Department of Transportation) standards to maintain a safe work environment for all team members. Coordinate with other construction personnel such as rebar installers, concrete finishers, and equipment operators to ensure seamless project flow. Conduct basic math calculations for measurements, material quantities, and leveling to support accurate paving work. Monitor equipment performance during operation; troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime. Experience Proven experience operating paving equipment such as asphalt pavers, screeds, loaders, excavators, and dump trucks on construction sites. Strong knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation. Familiarity with working on civil infrastructure projects involving asphalt paving, concrete forming, finishing, and concrete pumping. Experience handling bituminous materials and working with concrete mixers or concrete finishing tools is highly desirable. Ability to adhere strictly to safety protocols including DOT regulations and site-specific safety procedures. Prior work involving rebar installation or working alongside other trades such as concrete finishing or excavation is advantageous.
