This supervisory role involves coordinating material deliveries, operating heavy equipment, and enforcing safety standards while keeping projects on schedule and within budget. They act as the primary liaison between field workers and project manager.
Key Responsibilities Crew Management:
Supervises and leads a team of heavy highway or paving construction workers, ensuring high-quality workmanship on driveways, parking lots, and roadways.
Resource Coordination:
Coordinates daily equipment, trucking subcontractors, and asphalt material deliveries so progress is never delayed.
Safety Compliance:
Enforces all safety protocols, ensures PPE is worn, conducts daily site inspections, and files accident/injury reports when necessary.
Administration:
Reviews and signs time sheets, monitors material tonnage, and oversees job costs.
Requirements & Qualifications Experience:
Requires 5+ years of hands-on asphalt and road construction experience, plus at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Physical & Environmental Demands:
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, handle potential noise, fumes, and dirt, and frequently work flexible shifts (including nights and weekends).
Licenses:
