Salary Rate:
$125,000•$150,000 (salary depends on experience); can be higher than the range posted We are seeking a Traveling AC Paving Superintendent who oversees paving operations across California. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in AC paving and experience working on
CALTRANS
projects. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily asphalt paving activities and provide leadership to field crews and equipment operators. Plan and coordinate paving schedules, trucking operations, and equipment allocation to maximize efficiency. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality requirements. Monitor paving operations, including asphalt placement, compaction, elevation, and surface tolerances. Collaborate with project managers, estimators, inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliers to support project success. Resolve field challenges related to paving operations, grading, materials, equipment, and traffic control. Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, roadway construction, or related heavy civil construction. Previous experience in a Superintendent, Foreman, or supervisory role preferred. Thorough understanding of asphalt paving operations, compaction techniques, and roadway construction practices. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices. Proven experience leading paving crews, equipment operators, and subcontractors.
