Spreads and rakes asphaltic mixturesIrons asphalt to obtain a compact and smooth surface.
Clean cut-outs and prepares sub-grades before pavingAssists in clean-up of job site after asphaltic repairsSets up job site (including cones, barricades, high-rises and signs) in a safe mannerCompletes standard job reportsMay operate the screed on an asphalt paverWill be the grounds person on asphalt milling machineMay operate asphalt kettle and tool heaterDrives a vehicle to work sites.
Perform other functions outlined in the 7404 Asphalt Finisher job classification
Experience serving as a grounds person on high-production road milling or asphalt grinding machineryExperience operating heavy asphalt paving equipment (e.g. Caterpillar, Volvo, etc.) on large-scale commercial or civil projects
One-year full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40 hour work week). Any overtime hours that you work above 40 hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine full-time employment.
