1-4 years of construction or job site experience About us: Appell Striping of Denver/Colorado Springs is a growing parking lot maintenance company serving residential and commercial properties throughout the Denver and Colorado Springs metro areas. We specialize in asphalt patching, sealcoating, and parking lot line striping with a commitment to quality, professionalism, and exceptional customer service. Clear communication, dependable workmanship, and professional customer service are central to how we operate. This position offers leadership and training opportunities across multiple pavement/parking lot maintenance services and the opportunity to progress into an operations or general leadership role as the company grows. Position Overview Appell Striping & Sealcoating is seeking a leadership-oriented, dependable, and organized Lead Technician to perform, direct, and train crews in line striping, asphalt patching, crack filling, and sealcoating. This is a hands-on field position for someone who takes pride in quality work, shows up on time, motivates his crew, and desires to grow his career in the commercial property service industry. The daily jobsite activities will include: job site setup, pavement preparation, asphalt patching, crack filling, sealcoating and line striping, snow removal, cleanup, and equipment care. While this will be a leadership role, the Lead Technician is expected to perform many of the required activities and ensure that activities performed by others on the crew are completed in accordance with Appell Standards. This position requires outdoor work, physical effort, attention to detail, and flexibility during the busy season. Technicians may work early mornings, nights, weekends, and long shifts depending on weather, customer needs, and project schedules. Core Field Responsibilities Lead, motivate, and train the technicians on the crew Maintain professionalism and effectively communicate with key stakeholders such as property owners and property managers. Direct and perform all asphalt patching, crack filling, sealcoating, line striping, snow removal, and other parking lot maintenance services as required. Manage and assist the loading and unloading of trucks, trailers, tools, paint, sealer, cones, stencils, and materials Ensure trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment are kept clean, organized, and ready for work Oversee the preparation of job sites, which includes the cleaning of pavement, blowing debris, taping edges, setting cones, and organizing work areas Ensure that measurements, layouts, stencils, and striping activities are being completed in accordance with Appell Standards and customer requirements. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite from start to finish Provide direction to the crew and follow the criteria set forth by the manager during each project Ensure all company and industry safety rules and jobsite instructions are being followed Seasonal and Winter Operations Snow removal and ice management activities during the winter season. Operate snowplow and/or other snow-removal equipment (including snowblowers and hand shovels) and deicing equipment Be available for weather-dependent, overnight, early-morning, weekend, and on-call assignments when scheduled. Ability to pass a standard criminal background check before starting work. Experience towing utility or equipment trailers Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed Strong attention to detail and ability to prepare and follow precise layouts Preferred Qualifications Ability to effectively communicate in English and Spanish is highly preferred Line striping, asphalt patching, and sealcoating experience Experience with Graco or similar striping equipment Knowledge of traffic control procedures and safety signage Snowplow operation and snowmelt distribution
Pay:
$28.88 - $33.38 per hour
