Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Asphalt Laborer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will play a vital part in the successful execution of asphalt paving and maintenance projects, ensuring high-quality results on various civil infrastructure and highway maintenance sites. Your energy, attention to detail, and safety awareness will contribute to smooth operations on our busy construction projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in heavy equipment operation and construction processes while working on impactful infrastructure improvements. Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and setup of asphalt paving sites, including site clearing and material handling Operate heavy equipment Support paving operations by spreading asphalt using appropriate machinery and tools Perform manual handling tasks including lifting, shoveling, and positioning materials safely and efficiently Conduct utility locating to ensure underground utilities are identified before excavation or paving work begins Maintain safety protocols in accordance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and company policies Support highway maintenance activities by performing routine inspections, repairs, and clean-up tasks on construction sites Assist with the operation of dump trucks and other machinery involved in transporting materials around the site Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met while maintaining a safe work environment Able to tolerate the FL sun
