Job Description
Construction Paver We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Construction Paver to join our construction team. The Construction Paver is responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing asphalt, concrete, brick, pavers, and other paving materials for commercial, industrial, and municipal projects. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in outdoor environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Install asphalt, concrete, brick, stone, and interlocking pavers according to project specifications. Prepare work sites by excavating, grading, compacting, and leveling surfaces. Operate hand tools and power equipment used in paving operations. Spread, level, rake, and compact paving materials. Assist with forming, pouring, and finishing concrete as needed. Install curbs, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and roadways. Measure and verify grades, elevations, and alignment using lasers, levels, and measuring equipment. Perform site cleanup and maintain an organized work area. Load and unload construction materials and equipment. Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met. Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment. Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations. Work effectively as part of a construction crew to complete projects on schedule. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in paving, concrete, asphalt, or general construction preferred. Ability to read and follow construction drawings and project specifications is a plus. Valid driver's license required. Reliable transportation to job sites. OSHA 10 certification preferred (may be obtained after hire). Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends as project schedules require. Physical Requirements Lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly. Stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, and climb for extended periods. Perform repetitive physical labor throughout the workday. Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions. Safely operate construction equipment and hand tools. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, and high-visibility clothing. This position is performed primarily outdoors on active construction sites. Employees should expect exposure to dust, noise, vibration, heavy machinery, and varying weather conditions. Safety procedures must be followed at all times.
