We are seeking a dependable and experienced Construction Equipment Operator to operate heavy machinery and equipment on construction projects. The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating equipment, performing routine inspections and maintenance, and assisting the construction crew with site preparation, excavation, grading, material handling, and other project activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate heavy construction equipment, including excavators, loaders, skid steers, dozers, graders, rollers, and other equipment as assigned. Perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, loading, hauling, and material placement. Follow project plans, grade stakes, measurements, and instructions from the Foreman or Superintendent. Conduct daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues or safety concerns. Perform basic equipment maintenance, including greasing, fueling, cleaning, and checking fluids. Maintain safe working distances around employees, vehicles, utilities, and other equipment. Assist laborers and other crew members with general construction tasks when needed. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and project-specific safety procedures. Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members regarding job-site conditions and equipment needs. Complete required paperwork, inspection reports, and daily equipment logs. Perform other construction-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience operating heavy construction equipment preferred. Ability to safely operate assigned equipment in a variety of job-site conditions. Knowledge of basic construction practices and job-site safety. Ability to read and understand basic plans, grade stakes, and job-site instructions. Valid driver's license required. CDL and/or applicable equipment certifications preferred. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, and perform physical labor as required.
