This position is designed for a hands-on field leader with extensive Heavy Civil and Earthwork experience who understands how to safely and efficiently move dirt, manage crews and equipment, solve changing field conditions, and deliver building pads ready for vertical construction. What You'll Be Responsible For As Senior Superintendent, you will lead daily field execution involving: Clearing & Grubbing Erosion Control Topsoil Stripping Mass Excavation Cut & Fill Operations Mass Grading Haul Roads Building Pads Moisture Conditioning Compaction Soil Stabilization Lime / Cement Stabilization Proof Rolling Dewatering GPS Machine Control Underground Utilities Final Grading QA/QC coordination Heavy Equipment Knowledge Is Critical You must understand the real production capabilities and proper deployment of: Excavators Dozers Articulated Trucks Haul Trucks Motor Graders Rollers Loaders Water Trucks Scrapers - preferred We are not looking for someone who simply recognizes the equipment . You must understand how to deploy the fleet efficiently to achieve production targets, which is specifically emphasized in the technical profile.
Warehouse / Industrial
Experience Strong preference will be given to candidates with direct field leadership experience building: Warehouses Distribution Centers Manufacturing Facilities Industrial Parks Large Commercial Sites You should be capable of explaining how you would take a greenfield warehouse development from initial site preparation through earthwork, utilities and building pad readiness. The technical profile specifically identifies this ability as a key differentiator between candidates with real experience and those who remain at a general level. Field Leadership You will be expected to: Direct Foremen, Operators and Labor Crews Coordinate Survey Teams Plan daily production Assign equipment efficiently Monitor production versus schedule Coordinate with Project Management Maintain site drainage and access Identify potential delays early Coordinate testing and geotechnical inspections Maintain safety and quality standards Solve field problems independently
Critical Requirement:
Independent Decision-Making We need a Superintendent who does not need someone telling them what to do every step of the way . You must be capable of evaluating field conditions, making sound technical decisions, adjusting crews and equipment, and taking responsibility for results. The ideal candidate anticipates problems before they affect production . Qualifications Extensive Heavy Civil / Earthwork experience Proven mass grading experience Strong understanding of soil conditions and compaction Direct Proof Rolling experience Soil Stabilization experience Strong equipment productivity knowledge GPS Grade Control experience preferred Warehouse / Industrial site development strongly preferred Strong field leadership Willingness to travel throughout the East Coast Compensation Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications.
