Lutherville-Timonium, MD Job Details Full-time 13 days ago Qualifications Outdoor work experience Moving High school diploma or GED Loader operation Construction experience Full Job Description Job Purpose Operate a large rubber tire loader in an asphalt production and crushing facility including some nights and weekends. Be able to communicate by radio with the plant operators and the vehicles operating in the yard. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Operate an asphalt crusher or screener, alone or as part of a team, including the following: Feeding a crusher or screener Performing routine maintenance and repairs Moving finished product onto a stockpile Moving stockpile locations Loading trucks Assisting with Asphalt production plant operations 2. While feeding the crusher, operate in a high-traffic stockpile area and keep stockpiles pushed up or ramped up as stock trucks deliver loads of aggregate. 3. Keep the roadways around the plant, stockpiles, and crushing operations level and clear. This includes the removal of snow when necessary. 4. Conduct and document daily preventative maintenance on loader, grease, fuel, fluid levels, housekeeping, pre-trip inspection, etc. 5. Keep a log of daily machine hours and code hours to the appropriate category such as asphalt production, stockpile maintenance, RAP production, and maintenance. 6. Assist with plant repairs in any plant-down situation. 7. Assist as required with asphalt production plant winter maintenance. 8. Other duties as assigned as assigned. Education & Experience 1. High School graduate or equivalent specific work-related experience. 2. Three to five years heavy equipment operation experience. 3. Prefer background in road, general construction, or asphalt plant. Physical Demands Walk on uneven terrain and sloped job sites. Sitting in trucks and equipment, standing/walking at job sites Lift 50 pounds or more Operate company pickup trucks and heavy construction equipment• Use hands to finger, handle, grasp or feel. Reach with hands and arms. Sufficient vision to pass driver's license requirements. Climb into equipment/trucks using 3 points of contact. Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Sufficient hearing to talk, listen, speak. Environmental Conditions Work near moving mechanical parts. Work in high, precarious places. Fumes and airborne particles. Equipment and truck noise. Outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, humid, muddy). Risk of electric shock. Vibration. Frequently working near heavy traffic.
