Screed Operator

Screed Operator - Full-Time Penmac Staffing is now hiring a full-time Screed Operator for a local construction crew. This is a great opportunity for an experienced operator who takes pride in producing a smooth, consistent asphalt mat. The Screed Operator will work on project-based job sites, operating the screed on an asphalt paver and helping ensure each project meets quality and safety standards. This position offers competitive pay, steady hours, and excellent benefits. Requirements for the Screed Operator Must have previous experience operating an asphalt screed. Understanding of screed operation, paving basics, and safe equipment practices. Must be able to work weekdays and Saturdays as needed. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, work in high heat, dusty environments, and perform bending, shoveling, and overhead lifting. Must be able to safely get on and off equipment and wear required PPE. Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check. Must provide a current MVR and be able to obtain a health card. High school diploma preferred but not required. Class A CDL holders are strongly encouraged to apply. Screed Operator Responsibilities Operate and adjust the screed to maintain proper depth, width, and mat quality. Monitor material flow and make adjustments to ensure a smooth, consistent finish. Follow safety procedures when operating mobile earth-moving equipment. Pull trailers, equipment, and implements within state and federal guidelines. Perform equipment start-up, shutdown, and basic maintenance using hand tools.
