We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Prep / Grading Specialist to join our team in Kalispell, MT. This is a key, hands-on role responsible for preparing subgrade and base for asphalt paving across residential and commercial projects. This position requires a high level of precision, independence, and experience. The ideal candidate understands that quality prep is critical to the success of every paving project and can execute without constant supervision.

Responsibilities:

Perform finish grading and subgrade preparation for asphalt paving Operate equipment including skip loader, box blade, skid steer, rollers, and excavators Set hubs and run grade off a laser, consistently hitting required elevations Read and interpret plans, elevations, and site layouts Ensure proper base placement, drainage, and compaction Identify and correct issues such as soft spots, improper grade, or drainage problems Work independently to complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately Assist crew as needed to maintain production and job flow Qualifications (Required): Proven experience in asphalt prep and grading (residential and commercial) Experience running a skip loader or box blade is

REQUIRED

Ability to set hubs and run grade using laser systems Strong understanding of subgrade, base prep, compaction, and drainage Ability to work independently without supervision Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus)
