Job Overview Join our dynamic construction team as an Asphalt Laborer and play a vital role in paving the way for successful infrastructure projects. This energetic position involves assisting with asphalt installation, road maintenance, and highway construction, ensuring safety and quality at every step. You'll work outdoors on construction projects, supporting heavy equipment operation and manual labor tasks that keep our roads safe and durable. Duties Assist with asphalt paving, grading, and road surface preparation to ensure smooth and durable surfaces Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks under supervision Support the setup of traffic control for work zones to maintain safety for workers and motorists Handle manual tasks including heavy lifting, material loading, and site cleanup using hand tools and power tools Perform utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving activities Follow safety protocols in accordance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and company policies Support the operation of dump trucks and other commercial trucks for material transport across construction sites Skills Experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and Caterpillar machinery Knowledge of asphalt paving techniques and highway maintenance procedures Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely in outdoor construction environments Familiarity with traffic control measures for work zones to ensure site safety Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, welding, and basic equipment troubleshooting Construction site experience with a focus on road construction or civil infrastructure projects in Understanding of FMCSA regulations for commercial truck driving and safety compliance Strong work ethic with outdoor work experience in varying weather conditions Ability to locate utilities accurately using specialized equipment and techniques Join us in building safer roads and supporting vital infrastructure!
