Job Description
Overview Michael's Paving is hiring an experienced Asphalt Paver Operator to join our paving crew. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating asphalt paving equipment while helping ensure smooth, consistent, high-quality results on residential and commercial projects. We are looking for someone with prior paver operating experience who is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working as part of a fast-paced paving crew. Experience with LeeBoy equipment is preferred, but experience operating comparable asphalt pavers will also be considered. Responsibilities Operate asphalt pavers to lay asphalt according to proper grade, slope, depth, and job specifications. Set up and monitor the screed and make adjustments as needed to maintain a smooth, consistent asphalt mat. Monitor material flow, paving depth, and machine performance throughout each job. Coordinate safely with truck drivers and the ground crew to maintain a steady paving pace. Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and post-job cleanup. Safely load, unload, and position the paver at job sites and assist with securing it for transport. Assist the crew with job preparation as needed before paving begins. Communicate equipment issues, paving concerns, or job site issues to the foreman. Preferred but Not Required Experience operating LeeBoy pavers, including the 8500 or 1000 series. Ability to operate additional equipment such as rollers, skid steers, or other paving equipment. CDL or experience transporting construction equipment. Experience & Requirements Minimum 1 year of experience operating an asphalt paver. Valid driver's license required. Strong understanding of asphalt paving operations and job site safety. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work well with a crew. Comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.
