Asphalt Paving Machine Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Paving Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of paving machinery on various construction projects. The position requires flexibility, dedication, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards. Responsibilities Operate asphalt paving machines to apply asphalt to roadbeds, parking lots, and other surfaces. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on paving equipment. Collaborate with other crew members to ensure efficient and quality work. Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment. Operate milling machines as required. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction industry, specifically operating paving machines. Knowledge of asphalt paving techniques and equipment operation. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certification in asphalt paving or related field. Experience with different types of paving equipment. Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance. Ability to read blueprints and check elevations. Understanding of basic math and measurements. Why Work Here? Work Environment The typical work hours are from 6 am to 5 pm, with the expectation of flexibility for overtime and weekend work, particularly during the seasonal peak periods. The work locations are within a one-hour radius of the shop. Candidates should be open to performing general labor duties as needed and must report directly to the site location with their own mode of transportation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irwin, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
