The ideal paving candidates should have 2 years of road construction experience and current driver's license that meets state requirements. Responsibilities of the Asphalt Paving Operators
- Perform daily inspection and maintenance and ensure that paver is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
- Safely operate paver to achieve the specified paving width, depth and grade.
- Perform maintenance and smaller repairs as needed.
- Report to shop when equipment needs additional maintenance and repair.
- Keep equipment clean and prepare equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
- Maintain order, cleanliness and safety at jobsite.
- Comply with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
- Follow Supervisor's instructions closely. Requirements of the Asphalt Paving Operators
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum 2 years of road construction experience, preferred
- Current driver's license that meets state requirements
- Physically able to walk, bend, kneel, lift various objects weighing up to 50 pounds, stretch, sit and work extended hours outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Willing and able to travel and work some Saturdays as needed Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check Job
